The young lady working the bar on Saturday, May 30 is horrible. She was the shorter of the two servers. If you are native, great...but.....white, she won't give you the time of day. Nice hotel, but she ruined the experience for me. I will not stay here again.

Extreme clean and room service was absolutely top notch. It was conveniently right off the highway, location seems a little rough though, the walmart next door just got robbed right after we checked in.

Where do I even begin? On my way to teach a military class in Las Vegas I stayed at the Hampton inn 2 doors down (same parent company) and had a decent stay. On the way back, I decided to splurge a little and upgrade to the Hilton. That was my first mistake. Trying to unload a vehicle using their stupid tricycle luggage carts is a exercise in frustration. They constantly fall over and get stuck on any threshold, pebble, or minor object in their path. Then after I finally managed to wrangle that piece of crap to my room one of the staff came over to 'help' and even after I told him not to, grabbed the cart, dumping all of my gear onto the floor again. Once i get settled into the room, I noticed the strong smell of sewage (rm 115), a bit of investigation leads me to believe that the floor drain outside the handicapped shower is improperly trapped, allowing sewer gasses to come back into the room. Whatever, I'm tired, so I'll grab a bite and go get some sleep. $16 USD netted me a lukewarm flatbread where the only thing with any taste was the BBQ sauce on the chicken. To say this was underwhelming for the money is an understatement. Like most modern hotels, it's visually very appealing, but apparently built out of toothpicks and tissue paper. All night long I heard every door on every floor slam shut. I went to bed at 9pm and woke up at 7am, having gotten about 3.5-4 hours of sleep total. The doors are their own issue, as a disabled vet, I'm still fairly mobile but the doors on this property are self closing and the spring loaded hinges are 100% maxxed out (I wonder if anyone knows they're adjustable?). This is why every door slams like a castle gate in some B horror movie and makes getting into and out of the room a giant pain. Eventually this is going to knock over some elderly person on a walker or crutches and when the swarm of personal injury lawyers that infest New Mexico come calling, I hope they find me so that I can testify. And don't buy into the hype about 'amentities'. Simple things like a bottle of water that cost them .16c a unit are $2.00 if you actually take one. They nickle and dime you for everything, and lets not forget the $50.00 fee they tack on is case of 'whatever' that they don't tell you about until it shows up on your credit card statement. Hell, you don't even get a lit thermostat, meaning if you get up in the middle of the night to adjust the temp, you have to turn the lights on. Yay, not. I'm sure that this is quite posh by Gallup NM standards, but for the experienced traveler, this isn't your best option by a long shot. The ONLY reason I gave it two stars instead of one is because the room was very clean. Otherwise, hard pass.

Nicely updated and comfortable hotel. Very clean. Bed was comfortable. Cook to order breakfast was very good and reasonably priced. Close to highway for access but didn't hear highway noise.

I had booked my event at this hotel and I am unhappy with the services we got. The customer service was bad. There was no communication. The food was cold. There was a strand of hair in our guest plate that wasn't replaced and four of our guest did not received there meals. I spoke to a manager but she did not want to refund the four plates and didnt apologized for the strand of hair in the other plate. I do not recommend this place to anyone and if you decide to book your event here make sure you understand what you are getting yourself into. Best to book your events with local own small businesses.

We are gold members and didn't receive the welcome bag. This was the first time at a Garden Inn and didn't feel welcome. When we checked out, I informed the front desk about not receiving the welcome bag and we were only offered extra points. They don't offer free breakfast and the price is like Embassy Suites. The room didn't have a seating area like the Embassy. It also didn't have a faucet for drinks. The sheets had a slight stain and not big enough. We could hear the train.

Overall I had a great stay at this hotel. The atmosphere was lovely, the room was nice, and the cooked to order breakfast was a huge perk! The mattress was decent and the room was clean. My only complaints are that I had to wait 5 minutes for someone to show up at the check-in counter, the bathroom and dining area could've been cleaner, and the shower water pressure was way too high. Other than that, this was one of the best hotels I've stayed at!

Checked in and checked out within minutes due to an active safety issue on the property. At check-in, the front desk employee was on the phone with authorities and referenced, within my hearing, an individual described by staff as a “walker” attempting to break into a vehicle in the parking lot. No explanation or safety disclosure was provided to me at the time. Within minutes of check-in, I observed police and security arriving on the property. I immediately returned to the front desk, explained that police were on site and that I did not feel comfortable staying, and checked out. We did not occupy the room. Despite leaving almost immediately for safety reasons, I was later billed and told the property claimed no reason was given for my departure, which is not accurate. As a result, we continued driving nearly three additional hours late at night to stay at another Hilton property that met basic safety expectations. I’ve stayed with Hilton for many years. This experience fell well below what I expect in terms of transparency, guest communication, and handling of safety-related issues.

Stayed here one night while passing through the area on a road trip. Bed was very comfy and the room was clean and well kept. Priced well above the other hotels in Gallup, but we found it was worth it. You can hear the highway from the 4th floor, but that's pretty much a given.

My wife and I are always scrutinizing hotels prior to booking them. This one had the best rating out of the ones in Gallup. I feel compelled to leave a review because there are some poor reviews that we noticed that, in all honesty, are unfounded or in the past. I didn't deal with any of the panhandling or other complaints that I read. The room was clean, the customer service was great. The small details in the room showed a willingness to make my stay comfortable and quaint. I would say that having an overpriced eatery in the hotel and no complimentary breakfast option was the only downside. I'd stay here again.
