The Hampton Inn & Suites Gallup is currently undergoing renovations, impacting several amenities and creating some guest inconveniences. While some guests praise the friendly staff and cleanliness of the rooms, particularly those recently renovated, others have reported issues with room readiness, security concerns, and communication regarding ongoing construction and service limitations. The hotel's location poses logistical challenges for some travelers.
Staff was nice. Hotel policy is terrible. Our room was booked through our government travel arrangements at a discounted rate. Because we did not check in on the app, they canceled our room and built us for one night. When we arrived we had to rebook our rooms at the cost of $500 a night. They did this to eight people that I know of.
Strange, especially for a Hampton. The hotel is under renovations. It’s a mix of new and old. Our room had what appeared to be brand new furniture, beds, and carpet, but the tub was still very old and stained, but with a brand new faucet and shower head, which were very poorly attached. The tub spout freely turned in my hand when I went to put it in shower mode. The room also had a weird industrial grease or diesel fuel smell. This smell wasn’t evident in the hallway, and appeared to be confined to our room. We were debating if that was maybe from the new carpet or perhaps an adhesive. The floors were clearly not level, which was really strange for a multi-story building. The breakfast was ok, but nothing to get excited about. I would definitely suggest the Hilton or another hotel over this one.
My first impression was “wow” clean interior, beautiful atmosphere and very friendly staff. We were welcomed when we got here and helped immediately.. check in was an easy process. In no time at all we were checked in and settled into our room. The room was fantastic and clean. Lots of clean towels and an amenities. We slept comfortably with no noise and the room temp was perfect. Continental breakfast was a PLUS!! lots to choose from. Juices cereal breads pastries fruits yogurts waffles and coffees and teas. Everything was fresh, hot and tasty. We will always make this our place to rest our heads after a long trip anytime we are in town (Gallup NM) shout out to Angelina Murphy (manager) and staff for keeping this Hotel spectacular even through all the renovating they’re doing. Also, another shout out to Cayla for checking up on us and making sure we were taken care of. Thank you HAMPTON INN & SUITES.. ?? ?? ?? ?? ??
We were greeted by 2 very kind women upon check in. When we walked in our room we were amazed how clean and beautiful the room was. The beds and the chair in the room was so comfortable. The continental breakfast had a broad variety of choices to choose from. Coffee was hot and delicious. We will definitely be returning.
Great place to stay. The room was clean and spacious. You will not hear any road noise. The bed and pillows were comfortable as well. Cayla and Jack were very kind and hospitable. We were leaving early the morning of check out. They were both kind enough to coordinate a breakfast for us to go as well. On our next drive thru the area we are surely going to stay here! There are plenty of restaurants and shopping near by.
Clean hotel with truck-friendly parking and they were even able to fit me in last minute due to some unfortunate logistics related delays. The single king room on the 3rd floor was HUGE and had a nice kitchenette. Although their location was under renovation it didn't feel like I was staying the night at a construction site. The staff was expedient and friendly which was nice after a long day on the road. Breakfast was on par and the complimentary waters on arrival were much needed and a nice touch. Thank you to the team for a pleasant stay.
I've been a Hilton Honors member for over a decade and stayed at dozens of Hampton Inn locations around the country and have never had a unpleasant experience with a staff member until today. Upon trying to check in, there was confusion over whether it had been paid for already and it had not been. So, I tried to pay over the phone with the same card I made the reservation with and they would not allow. I tried to have my employee pay with his company credit card (same company card that I had on my account) and she wouldn't honor my Hilton membership level or give me the points. It just got worse from there including rudeness, arrogance and basically kicking my employee out saying "we don't want your business!" I was shocked! So, if I were you, I'd stay at any of the other hotels right around this area and avoid this one like the plague. Oh, also, we asked for a manager and she said she was the manager.
Great place to get a good night's sleep. We were there couple of weeks ago and taken by the sweetest staff member. Stopped again last night and ran into same nice guy!! His name is Nate and he truly cares about his guests and their comfort! Angel of a man, we really appreciated his happy spirit! Made our day!! Thanks Nate ??
Greeted by friendly, polite staff. Overall quiet establishment. My husband and I were able to rest in a comfortable room after a long day of traveling. Guest lavatory offered both a shower and tub option. Guest laundry made life easier. There is a fitness center as well.
I made this reservation through the Honors reservation offshore, central reservations. Once I arrived at the hotel I was advised the hotel was being renovated . “There is no exercise room, laundry, pool, lobby restrooms or business center access and do not ask for a discount.” The central booking folks did not mention this. No hello thank you for being a Hilton honors member, would you like a water? This seems to be standard for leisure travelers now at most Hamptons. But, when I asked for a luggage cart, I was told there is only one working and you will have to wait for it to be returned. So I did. When I got to the room the bathtub had been sanded waiting for paint or glaze. In fairness the bed was comfortable and clean. The next morning when we went for breakfast, the fruit was spoiled and obviously been in the basket for a while (see photos). I told the desk clerk . The parking lot is a real danger. Especially the handicapped parking (picture). The renovation should have been done 10 years ago.
